Built: Base Building
garigal country
Soaring gables are the defining feature of our modern farmhouse in Avalon. The 400-year-old antique pine was sourced from an old cheese factory in France.
The trusses were cut to size in France before being disassembled, loaded into shipping containers, delivered and reassembled with cranes on site.
The wide-plank floorboards were once cheese boards, with their original mould markings still visible.
Although the scale of this family home is vast, it’s peppered with intimate spaces made for gathering, cooking, eating and resting.
